Functional Skills Tutor (College Academy)
Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor
Type of contract: Sessional Contract (up to 12hrs available)
Salary: £20 - 25 per hour
Location: Rectory Park & Rayners Lane
Department: Education / Football Development (6hrs per week at each site)
Responsibilities will include: -
- Provide tutoring sessions to student in need of academic support either on a 1:1 basis or small group settings.
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons across different year groups, adhering to current curriculum and lesson plans.
- Maintain a positive and supporting learning environment that promotes students’ academic and personal development.
- Monitor students provide and provide regular feedback to schools, parents and guardians, whilst supporting their individual learning needs.
- To work in partnership with educational professionals to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
- To ensure high quality feedback is provided on a consistent basis
- Work with the exams officer to prepare the students for external assessments
The type of experience we are looking for:
Skills, Knowledge, Experience
- Able to teach maths/ English from Pre-Entry Level up to Level 2. (essential)
- Experience teaching GCSE, or a willingness to work towards teaching it (essential)
- Experience within the education sector is preferred. This can be as a QTS teacher, cover supervisor, Teaching Assistant or a Tutor.
- Knowledge and understanding of various SEND is preferred
- A willingness to work towards a teaching qualification (L4 minimum)
- Knowledge and understanding of various SEND is preferred
Personal Qualities
- Excellent communication skills to interact with students, educational professionals and other stakeholders.
- A professional approach, be flexible and able to work alongside students engaged in sporting activities
- Able to engage and education students across all year groups.
Graduates welcomed with degrees in their specialist subject fields
